Eden Celeste Portraits

I have painted portraits of people ever since I could get a brush in my hands. For most of my career my art has had a fantasy and sci-fi focus, but within the last decade I have grown to discover that my real talent and desire is in portrait art.

I have a broad range of portrait interests, from the traditional style of the old masters to more of a whimisical mixture of traditional and fantasy art. My fantasy background has further enabled me to imagine with my clients something more than what is in the photograph. This means that if you can convey to me your concept I can paint it!

The Painting

I can work from any type of photo you have available. It is best if you have pictures taken specifically for this project, or if you can send me a range of photos. Some pictures work better than others for paintings and I will be happy to work with you to pick the best one for what you want. If you would like other elements in your painting (fairy wings, pets, etc.) I will potentially need photos of those as well. If you live in the Portland, Oregon area I will be happy to meet with you to do our own photoshoot.

Once I have worked out the photograph with you I then take it into Photoshop for the painting workup. I do this step regardless of which medium I will ultimately use. Once I have a workup of what I believe you want I will make a digital sketch of it and send it to you for final approval. The sketches can be anything from a pencil drawing (most common) to a color workup, depending on what the art demands.

Once we have a photo and a agreed-upon digital workup I then start the painting. Paintings normally take me between 2-6 months to complete with an oil painting often taking the longest.
